Appointment for Tahoe at the Littleton DMV

I set up an appointment at the DMV in Littleton for today. Originally, my DMV appointment was at 9:00 a.m., but then we got hammered with about 6"-8" of snow last night, so they canceled the early morning appointments. But Margie and I just drove down there anyway to see what we could get done.

The problem is that the Tahoe has no plates on it, and it's sitting over in Arvada at Harlan Towing's tow lot, covered in a foot of snow. But they won't release it to me unless I can get the plates sorted out.

So, even though my appointment is canceled due to the heavy snows, we drive down there anyway to the Jeffco DMV at 11139 Bradford Rd, Littleton, and just beg them to help us out. They tell us to come back at 10:00 a.m., so we hang around for a bit down the hill, and then at 10:00 a.m. we go back, and after I provide proof of insurance, they give me a temporary driver's license and ostensibly, this should be enough to get Harlan Towing in Arvada to release the vehicle.

So, we drive up to Harlan Towing in Arvada. 6260 W 56th Ave, Arvada, Colorado.

So, I pay them for their towing and storage fees, but now my Tahoe is covered in a foot of snow, sitting in their lot, and the engine won't even turn over. So he brings out a little portable battery/starter kit and hooks the cables up to the Tahoe's battery, and it eventually starts up.

So, I say thanks and goodbye to Margie, and now, I'm driving the Tahoe around down the hill with a foot of snow on the roof and now I go to the emissions place (Air Care Colorado location at 5175 Marshall Street), and they do an emissions test and say that it failed. I need to get a new gas cap, he says, so I ride up a local auto parts store, go back to the Air Care Colorado location at 5175 Marshall Street. This time, he says I passed. So now, I go back to the DMV in 11139 Bradford Rd, Littleton, CO. I don't have an appointment, but the guy recognizes me from earlier in the morning, and now, he gives me my plates and my stickers that I need to put on the Tahoe so that I now have legit plates for the Tahoe.

I drive home, and put the stickers on the rear license plate, and then put both license plates on the Tahoe. So now, finally, I'm driving around legally. I have plates and insurance and now I'm in a pretty good situation.

Then, I start trying to sort out why the left turn signal makes a rapid clicking sound. THis happens when the turn signals aren't working. I pull the rear light covers and start trying to diagnose the problem. Eventually, it just sorts itself out. Now, my turn signals work. Not sure what the issue was.

Now, to get the other vehicles straightened out.
