Snacks from Hawaii

Jennifer and I got some snacks at some point in Hawaii which I really liked, so I thought I'd see if I could find them on the mainland when I returned. As it turns out, Walmart carries them.

So, I'll try to pick some up at Walmart if it's not snowing and the roads are clear.

Yep. My local Walmart down the hill had them. Score!

Getting Ready For Hawaii

So, today (Wed Nov 15th) I decided I'd try to get ready for my upcoming trip to Hawaii.

I was recently riding my motorcycle recently down Pleasant Park Road and I came to a spot where there was still snow/ice across the whole road. So, I turned around and came back. But, it got me thinking that I need to replace the tires on the bike.

So, I called B&B Cycles and we both did a little digging. They found that they have a rear tire for me in stock. And I found that I have a front tire for me in the garage. So, I'd like to get the Africa Twin up there and get some new tires on it, but then I noticed that, my license plate on the Africa Twin expired last month (in October). So, I figured I'd get that taken care of.

I just recently renewed the plates on the Jeep so I'd be able to drive SL around without going to prison when she came out. I was really proud that I had insurance and current plates on the Jeep.

So, I drove the Jeep down the hill to DMV plates, 11139 Bradford Rd, Littleton and got a new 2024 sticker for the Honda Africa Twin license plate. Came back home, put the stickers on the Africa Twin so the Africa Twin is good to go (so it's now good through 10/2024).

Then, I was thinking that I'd put the Africa Twin in the M101-A1 3/4 ton army trailer and pull it behind the Tahoe up to B&B Cycles to get the tires replaced (Tahoe plates will expire in Feb 2024). But then, I realized that the army trailer had expired plates on it also.

So, I drove the Jeep back down the hill again to DMV plates, 11139 Bradford Rd, Littleton and got new stickers for the M101-A1 3/4 ton army trailer. They gave me a new sticker, and I came home and put the new sticker on the army trailer. So now, I have current plates on the Jeep, Tahoe, Army Trailer, and Africa Twin.

But daylight is fading fast. I'm not even sure what time it is with Daylight Savings Time going away and all. So, I decided to just ride my motorcycle up to B&B Cycles, drop it off, and then figure out how to get home.

So today, I rode my motorcycle up there (with my spare font tire over the rear Givi case) and dropped it off. Now, they've got two new tires for me, 1 front and 1 rear. We found the new rear tire in their inventory a few days ago. So, they're supposed to do an oil change and put the new tires on the bike. I think that is the plan.

Now, I've got to see if we can get the BMW X3 running properly. The power steering is basically gone. Probably need to renew the plates on it also.

Would be nice if I could get all of this sorted out before I fly to Hawaii on Sunday 11/19/2023.

3rd Snow

So, today will be our 2nd measurable snow of the season. Started snowing at about 11:00 a.m. on 11/8/2023. Looks like we're supposed to get 1" - 3". I was actually surprised as I had let the cats out and they both came back in. They didn't want to deal with it I guess.

As of 8:00 p.m. on 11/8/2023, we have about 4" of snow.

SL Flies to MS

Today, 11/4/2023, SL flew back to MS. Was great seeing her and visiting with her during her stay. She's flying Delta through Atlanta and should be back in Madison by this afternoon, I would think.
