Guanella Pass

Today, I did Guanella Pass. Very nice colors as we get further into the Fall.

Grant to Guanella Pass:
The southern part of the pass (from Grant to Guanella Pass) is alternately referred to as:

From Grant, Colorado (Elevation 8,606'), the road goes north for 13.2 miles to the summit (11,669'). The mile markers go from 1 to 13 as you ride north, climbing Guanella Pass.

3 miles south of the summit, as you're heading north, you cross from Park County into Clear Creek County. As you're driving north from Grant on Guanella Pass Road, at the 10.5 mile mile-marker, there's a sign that says "Entering Clear Creek County". (Alternately, if you're heading south from Guanella Pass summit, there's a sign on the south-bound side that says "Park County"). Both of these signs are just a few feet south of the Geneva Basin Road.

Continuing North, the summit of Guanella Pass is approximately 3 miles further with parking lots on both sides of the road. So, the south side of the pass (from Grant to the summit) is approximately 13.2 miles.

Guanella Pass to Georgetown:
The northern part of the pass (from Guanella Pass to Georgetown) is 10.8 miles down the road that is alternately referred to as:

From the summit, the mile markers go from 14 to 24 as you ride north, descending from Guanella Pass (11,669') to Georgetown (8,540').

So, it looks like the total mileage from Grant to Georgetown is roughly 24 miles.
