Jones Pass Attempt 7/20/2021

Still can't get over the continental divide at Jones Pass. Got up there tonight and confirmed that there's still 20' of snow blocking the summit. I'm thinking that it will be August before the pass is open. I tried to record some time/distance measurements.

7/20
6:45 p.m. Idaho Springs. Odometer: 52,191
7:00 p.m. Empire. Odometer: 52,202
7:10 p.m. Exit for Jones Pass. Odometer: 52,209
7:15 p.m. Trailhead for Jones Pass. Odometer: 52,211
7:21 p.m. Treeline. Odometer: 52,213
7:30 p.m. Summit Odometer: 52,215 (12,454' above sea level)
7:35 p.m. Depart Summit. Odometer: 52,215 (12,454' above sea level)
7:50 p.m. Trailhead for Jones Pass. Odometer: 52,218

So, it looks like from the trailhead to the summit is only about a 3-4 mile / 15 minute ride. Crazy to think at there's still 20' of snow blocking the pass at the summit on 7/20/2021.
