Although your mathematical whiz brain can do all that, for me the easy way is to see Km sign and multiply x 6.. Instant approximation. although technically it is 0.6, 6 will give it to me.

So, if you see a sign that says 10km, you multiply it by 6 and get 60 miles. Then, you have to divide by 10 and get 6 miles. Yeah...that works also.
