PayPal VP struck, killed by Caltrain

I've ridden the subways and lightrails in a few cities....London, Paris, NYC, Boston, SF. And I've watched the behavior of the crowds as the trains approach enough to know to stay way far back away from the platform. But people are so excited to be the first on the subway train, that they stand right at the very edge of the platform. SF even has little footprints painted n the platform showing you where to line up, just inches from the speeding BART trains. So, to hear that this guy was killed by Caltrain does not surprise me to any great extent. My guess is that he fell, or was pushed, in front of the train as it approached.
