Baja Trip Winding Down

I'm sort of running out on time/money/energy for the Baja adventure and I'm looking for an exit strategy. I can get a plane ticket home. This is not a problem. The question is what to do with the bike. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Ideas at this point are:
1) drive it to the airport, pull the plates off, toss them in the trash, and fly back to Denver
2) park it somewhere(?) near the San Jose/Los Cabos airport at someone's home and leave it, which gives me the option to return for it later, sell it remotely, etc.
3) auction it on eBay
4) take it apart and ship it back to the U.S. in pieces
5) find someone else that wants to carry the torch for a while and turn it over to them in exchange for sex, drugs, or a suitcase full of dirty pesos.

If you have any thoughts, please use this post for comments. I do read the comments, although I've not been replying to them much due to my crazy life, obviously.

I would suggest possibly finding a family (as Igor does) and see if you can't work out some kind of temporary living aarrangment with them until you get together whatever recources you need to escape. As I mentioned, I'll contact DMV for you tomorrow and I'll email you & or post to your blog (your choice) about their response, if any. Meanwhile any pertenent information relating your bike, home address I already have....maybe a phone number and contact at the residence....etc..etc..

I am forever in favor of cutting your losses. Remember, I even have a 2 person quitting club with one of my best friends ie no guilt and only support for pulling our children out of a variety of activities mid-season! When you are back in the USofA I'll give you the latest update... There is just a surge of power that comes with a quick exit strategy and not letting the money wasted hod you back:) On the other hand, I have to say that you looked pretty cool in your day 3? photo of you and the bike! So if you can make it work by creating a relationship with a family or by dicing and slicing and shipping, then by all means go for it.

You are headed the wrong direction. You need to make it to the STraight of Magellan on the tip of South America. Dont give up now. Take the MC through Panama to Columbia and Peru. Too early to give up now. You have only been at it for a week. Give it a year before throwing in the towel. Why stop now????
