Mystery Bird

Found this poor deceased bird outside in the yard today. I live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in unincorporated Jefferson County, Colorado. I found the bird today (10/15/2008). The bird is small - approximately 4 1/2" long from beak to tail. Has distinctive yellow patch/line extending across the bird's back. Underside appears to be sort of spotted/mottled color of mixed brown and white. I tried using the installed the WhatBird toolbar, and it suggest 43 birds, but I looked at all of them and couldn't figure it out. Any clue what this bird is?

Update: Best guess at this point is a male Pine Siskin.
