Doe with Twin Fawns

I snapped some pics of this doe with her twin fawns a few hours ago. I'm actually surprised to see them, as they seem small, and still have very distinct spots. The mom looks so gaunt, that I'm not even sure the fawns are weaned yet. In spite of the myth of global warming, it will snow here later this month. I think that this mom gave birth too late in the summer, and now they're in a race to bulk up before the snows set in. If they don't put some weight on in a hurry, they may not make it through the winter.
