TinyURL

My buddy Racansky turned me onto the TinyURL gig. What it does it take gi-normous, long URL's and create much shorter URL's to replace them. The TinyURL then re-directs to the long tedious URL.

For instance, I turned this URL: http://www.peeniewallie.com/2007/03/the_boat.html

Into this URL: http://tinyurl.com/25eko3

It's pretty slick. Try TinyURL out when you get a chance.

There are several alternatives to TinyURL. The latest is xaddr.com. It's new, so it's still giving out two-letter URLs.

I prefer tiddlyurl.com as it lets you login and see what links you have created which is useful to store favourites etc online whilst still shortening the URL.
