Jennifer's Half-Birthday

We celebrated Jennifer's eight and a half-birthday yesterday. Most people celebrate birthdays once a year, we do it twice. Twice works out better for me because, I've only got one kid, and she'll be going to college in about...two days it seems like, so I figure, why not do it twice a year? Christmas is just too crazy to focus any effort around a birthday. So, this gives her a time in the middle of the summer when we can focus on her. Normally, we don't do presents on her half-birthday, but this time, I bought us a couple of plane tickets to Hawaii, and got her some split-fin flippers, a scuba mask, a dry snorkel, and five wetsuits. I probably went a little overboard, but, she'd never been to Hawaii before so, I felt kinda bad for her.

Here's some photos of her cake before and after she decorated it with all of her bathtub wildlife.
