Coffee County, Tennessee

This slideshow is composed of images I shot over five days in May of 2006 on the Cumberland Plateau in Middle Tennessee. The images were captured at multiple locations in Coffee County, Tennessee, including Cascade Springs, Lake Ovoca, Ledford Mill, Cedar Point, Duck River, Normandy Lake, Rutledge Falls, and other local landforms. (Link: Tips on shooting waterfalls.)

The photos were taken with a Canon EOS 20D, Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens, Canon EF 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens, and a Bogen tripod with a pistol grip. The presentation is mainly composed of wildlife and landscape photographs.

This slideshow (4:23) is a 22 Meg self-playing executable named tennessee.exe created using Imagematics StillMotion PE. Soundtrack is How To Save A Life by The Fray, a local band from Denver.

Click here to download the presentation. If you have an Apple, or you're running Unix, or if you're nervous about running a .exe file from my site, then click here to download the Macromedia Flash version. The resolution is not quite as good on the Macromedia Flash version, and you can't pause and go backward and forward, but it loads faster, and it's a fairly decent presention. Lyrics in the extended entry.

How to Save A Life
The Fray

Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best
Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God he hears you

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong (where did I go wrong), I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up (I would of stayed up) with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

I got here on the 8th, left the 12th. Returned the 14th, and I'm still here now. Wartrace is a cool little town. I blew through there last night on my way to the Bell Buckle Cafe. :)
