Ping failed: HTTP error: 400 URL must be absolute

After modifying the URL's that my blog pings to promote my blog, I kept getting this "ping failed: HTTP error: 400 URL must be absolute" error in my Activity Log in Movable Type 3.17. I ignored for a fairly long time, but it finally bothered me enough that I figured it out. I needed to append "http://" to the front of the URL's that I was pinging. In MovableType 3.17, go to Manage - WEBLOG CONFIG - Preferences - Publicity / Remote Interfaces / TrackBack. For instance, I changed "http://ping.rootblog.com/rpc.php" to "http://http://ping.rootblog.com/rpc.php". This corrected the problem. The URL's that I'm pinging now are:

http://ping.blo.gs/
http://www.weblogs.com
http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping

http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
http://ping.rootblog.com/rpc.php
http://www.mod-pubsub.org/kn_apps/blogchatter/ping.php
http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc
http://xping.pubsub.com/ping/
http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/

Now, I'm not getting the "absolute" errors, but now I'm getting some 404 errors from my pings:

Ping 'http://ping.rootblog.com/rpc.php' failed: HTTP error: 404 Not Found
Ping 'http://www.mod-pubsub.org/kn_apps/blogchatter/ping.php' failed: HTTP error: 404 Not Found

So, I'm deleting these two for now, as they don't seem to work anyway.
