Dimocrats vs Republicans
The U.S. Senate has 51 Republicans, 47 Democrats, and 2 independents. There are 35 seats up in 2018 - including special elections in Minnesota and Mississippi - of which 26 are held by Democrats. Dimocrats will need to gain 2 seats to take control.
The U.S. House of Representatives has 235 Republicans, 193 Democrats, 0 Independents, 7 Vacancies.
So, it looks like the Republicans currently control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. I'm not clear that that will change with the next election, unless the Dimocrats steal the elections.

IRFanView
So, it looks like I used to use IRFanView to rename my files. But, at some point, they fixed it so that IRFanView isn't free any more. Now, it says my trial has expired. Probably when I got this new laptop as my home server - whenever that was.
Hmmm.
I tried to rdp into my servers downstairs. No luck.
ok. but I did confirm that IRfanview does work on the downstairs PC. It's just not hooked into my network for whatever reason. dunno why that is.

Date/Time Stamps on Video Files Created by SV3C WiFi IP Camera

I'm trying to figure out what the date/time stamps mean on the videos created by the SV3C WiFi IP Camera.
It creates a folder on the MicroSD card in a YYYYMMDD format as follows:
20181019\record000\A181019_062502_062516.264
Here, we see a file that starts on 10/19/2018 at 06:25:02 a.m. and records until 06:25:16. So, it records for 14 seconds. Also, if we watch the video, you can verify that the date/time stamps are correct, as they match the date/time stamp that is recorded/encoded in the video.
The thing that is confusing, however, is when we look at the Date Modified column in Windows Explorer, we see that the Date Modified does not match the date time specified in the Name column. For instance:

So, the file name seems to indicate that the 14 second recording started on 2018/10/19 at 21:00:01 (9:00:01 PM) and recorded until 21:00:15 (9:00:15 PM), so it recorded for 14 seconds. And, if we look at the date time stamp on the video as it plays, that is exactly what we see. Those times appear to be correct and match the date time stamp on the video when viewed. However, the Date Modified field does not appear to match. For some reason, the Date Modified field shows 8 hours earlier. I'm not clear why this is. But, the solution seems to be just to ignore the Date Modified (and Date Created) fields in Windows Explorer when we're looking at the files that were created by the SV3C WiFi IP Camera, as both of these values are clearly incorrect.
OK. Trying to get the Time Setting set correctly for the iPhone App named CamHi.
Click on CamHi to launch the app.
Click on the little gear to the right to enter setup.
Click on Time Setting down at the bottom of the screen.
It says: Time Setting

So today, my wireless keyboard died on me. It's just not working right. The space bar wouldn't work. So, I took it apart. Now, it's not really working right, it seems. So, I ordered another one off of Amazon. Of course, it's discontinued, so I ordered a used one for $20. Like...no way in hell I'm learning a new keyboard at this point.

Playing Video Files Created by SV3C WiFi IP Camera
So, I haven't been able to get my FTP server working. Figured I'd skip that step, rip the MicroSD memory card out of the camera, copy the video files over, and see what we recorded. Uh. uh. uh! Not so fast! For some reason, these fucking idiots are creating files that pretty much can't be played by any video player on the surface of the earth at this point. Nice. Thanks for that, cocksuckers.
The video files all have a .264 extension. So, pretty much nothing will touch them. You have a few options:
1) Spend your days trying to get VLC to play them.
2) download the player from SV3C website. Go here: http://www.sv3c.com/Instruction-and-Software-For-960P-1080P-WiFi-IP-Camera-H-series-.html, Under Software, click 4. Player for H.264 Videos(For HX Series) to download.
So, this downloads a file called HiPlayer.zip
I created a folder and extracted the files to C:\Program Files\HiPlayer
OK. Fair enough.
Created a shortcut to it on my desktop. OK.
Now, let's try to play one of the files...
Christ. It does, in fact, play the .264 files, but the HiPlayer isn't associated with the type of file extension .264. So, let's try to get it so that it knows that the .264 files should be played with the HiPlayer. Christ. OK. Done. I associated the .264 file extension with the HiPlayer. Lord. Seriously people.
Now, I'm copying all of the files off of the MicroSD card which i unceremoniously ripped out of the camera (after removing the 4 screws that hold the front on). Like, in theory, you can copy these files off of the camera using FTP, but I've not got that part working yet, thanks for asking.

FTP Server
So, I'm trying to figure out now how to get the new security camera to work my existing FTP server.
This post goes into detail about how I set up the FTP server back in 2005.
1) What O/S am I running?

How do I know if I have IIS on Windows 7?
go to Start->Run type inetmgr and press OK. If you get an IIS configuration screen. It is installed, otherwise it isn't. You can also check ControlPanel->Add Remove Programs , Click Add Remove Windows Components and look for IIS in the list of installed components.
Autoexec.bat is still in the same place, in c:\
But I don't see it there.
You need to go into Folder options and unhide 'protected operating system files', then if you right-click the file you even get an 'edit' option.
I still don't see the c:\Autoexec.bat

SV3C WIFI Camera
So, I ordered this new tricked out camera which supposedly will notify me when the coon is in the house. Trying to get it set up now.
I believe the SV3C camera I purchased is this one:

OK. Now that I have the MicroSD card in the camera, how do I access the photos in the camera?
I looked at the directions that they emailed me, but they send me to another place. Great.

OK. But this isn't working for me. And, on my iphone, if I go into the CamHi App > Setup > FTP Setting, there's nothing there. So, I'm thinking I've got to set up the FTP configuration on the iPhone first. Hmmmm.

Then an FTP login window shows up asking for login ID and password, defaults are admin and 1234.

After filling in the login ID and password fields, you will see the FTP directory.

Besides, users can also just launch the IE browser to access SD card. In the same way, enter the FTP address (ftp://192.168.1.30 by default) in the address field. After finishing the login process, you will see the FTP directory.
