GoPro Hero 5

So, Jennifer and I recently returned from a trip to Los Cabos, Todos Santos, and La Paz. Sadly, some housewife, broke out a GoPro Hero 5 while we were on a beach near Pichilingue.

Like, I just can't stand to be out-teched by some middle-aged housewife. It's just not in my nature. So, as soon as we got back to the United States, I ordered a GoPro Hero 5 with a 128 gig Micro SD card.

However, now that I have it here at the house, I realize that it's really nothing like the GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition.

So, I found this video that shows how to insert the battery and the memory card.

Here's the How To Get Started Video

How to charge your Hero 5

OK. So, the red light is on when it's charging, and then goes off once it's completely charged.

A new gamecam

My last gamecam was a Stealth-cam Model STC-G30.

Price: $77.05
TRIAD: 8.0 Megapixel (3 resolutions) 8MP/4MP/2.0MP, HD Video recording 5-180 seconds
30 IR Emitters/80ft range with Reflex Trigger - .5 seconds, Matrix Blur Reduction
New Intuitive backlit menu programming
Manual Shot capability, Secure Lock password protection and SD Card slot up to 32GB
Test Mode, Video output, USB output

So, now, it seems like I've misplaced it, so I need to get another one, it seems.

Jonathan's Minolta AF 70-210mm f/4 Review Lens

http://kurtmunger.com/minolta__af_70_210mm_f_4__reviewid25.html

Now, to find a camera that's compatible.

It looks like it will work with these cameras:

Sony A700
Sony A900

However, these are not full-frame sensor cameras. He wants to use this to take photos of decks, and needs to be able to take a wide-angle shot. Because they are not-full-frame sensor cameras, they won't really be shooting at the same range as described on the lenses. This is not a problem, just an observation.

Also, now that I look at it, these cameras came out 10 years ago. So, let's find a newer digital camera.

"Generally, all Minolta AF (ie Minolta a-mount) lenses from Minolta will work on Sony alpha cameras. This may include the e-mount NEX range, if used with an LA-EA1 or 2 adaptor, although there may be restrictions. Sony have a page for compatibility with each Alpha range."

Here are the DSLR-type cameras that Sony makes today:
