Cat Appreciation Day

In the summers, Timmy roams far and wide. I seldom see him, as he hunts for birds and mice and takes up with the neighbors or explores the woods behind our house. But then, just when he's sure that life can't get any better, the snows return.

He hates to get his paws wet, and he despises walking across snow. So, when the snows set in, he basically becomes housebound and runs up and down the stairs like the world's on fire.

These last few days, he's basically just given up hope and slept in my bed all day.

Well, today is National Cat Appreciation day, so Jen and I wen to PetCo and picked up a bunch of new toys for him, including a new cat scratching pad with cat nip and a new toy where a fake mouse runs in a little circle. He went insane when I opened the cat nip, rolling around in it, gnawing on the cardboard scratching pad. Hopefully the toys will keep him from being bored out of his gourd this winter.

If you don't want your cat to get bored, just invite your new girlfriend over.
