Massacre in a Gun-Free Zone
Tragically, many people were slaughtered today on the Virginia Tech campus. It won't be long before the anti-gun nuts come out with their agenda on this one. More waiting periods and background checks and trigger locks. Just their normal parade of hogwash feel-good idiocy.
Unfortunately, there is no way to stop an armed lunatic on a rampage, except with brute force. Because police can not be everywhere at once, the only way to stop this violence is to allow people to exercise their constitutional right to bear arms and defend themselves. Mass shootings only occur where the population is known to be disarmed. These assailants are crazy, but they're not dumb. They go for soft targets. If they thought that one in ten people might be carrying a concealed weapon, they'd think twice before pulling out a weapon.
"Last spring a Virginia Tech student was disciplined for bringing a handgun to class, despite having a concealed handgun permit. Some gun owners questioned the university's authority, while the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police came out against the presence of guns on campus."
See, the police always want to disarm us. They don't want us to have guns because they don't want to get shot. So, they tell us that we should trust in them to protect us. But the truth is that the police can't protect us, as witnessed by this horrific slaughter. Not only can they not protect us, the police are not even obligated to protect us. Additionally, cops are twice as likely as members of the general population to abuse alcohol, at least 5% of cops abuse steroids, Domestic violence in cop families is two to four times more common than in the general population. So, these are the people that we arm and entrust our lives to.
The police are a centralized solution to a distributed problem. If they can't get to the crime scene in time, or if they run and hide like these cops did, and it costs you your life, then it's a shame, but it's clearly a price they're willing to pay. All the police can do is wipe up the blood and collect evidence. And, in a case like this, there's not going to be a trial cause the perp is deceased. So, good job police. Thanks for nothing.
"In June, Tech's governing board approved a violence prevention policy reiterating its ban on students or employees carrying guns and prohibiting visitors from bringing them into campus facilities."
So, the university is very clear in their stance. They don't believe the United States Constitution means what it says, namely that "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Tragically, there was a bill introduced this year in Virginia that would have allowed these students to defend themselves, but HB 1572 died in a subcommittee meeting in January.
Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus."
Tragically, that's how stupid these mindless sycophants truly are. They don't care about safety. They care about the illusion of safety. And good job to our elected officials for refusing to allow us to exercise our constitutional right to self-defense.
Contact Larry Hincker, the spokesman at Virginia Tech and let him know how glad you are to "feel safe", knowing that you've been disarmed by your elected officials. Thanks a mint, Larry! You're a peach!

The police don't care if you have guns or not.....just as long as they are used legally. The Democrats don't want you to have guns....The police don't make the laws but only enforve them. The job of the police is to report and investigate crimes. And although personal protection does come into play, the police are under no obligation to protect you 24/7. This why there are bodyguards, private detectives and concealed weapon laws. Don't start poking blame at the wrong group.

I personally have not found this to be true. In many conversations with the police, I have found a bias towards disarming the citizens. I was shocked when I first learned this. My thought was "an armed society is a polite society - more guns, less crime, etc." Imagine how many calls the police would get if, everytime someone felt threatened, they called the police instead of confronting the problem themselves. The police would be inundated with calls. But, the police don't see it this way, or else they don't care. The chief of police at VT came out against allowing the students to carry weapons on campus. That speaks volumes.
