Armitron All-Sport Watch Instructions

http://home.earthlink.net/~eldonenew/armitron.htm
The owners of this watch will appreciate the following instructions, because they a re readable, and fix an error in the documentation that comes with the watch. Watch setup instructions for the Armitron Instalite All-Sport :

Mode B / \ C Date
______|  |
Light A \ / D Alarm

Update: Don't look now, but circus pinheads at Armitron have finally gotten around to posting instructions for their watches on the internet. Farking idiots.

_____________________________________

Set time time / date

Press and hold B (Mode) untill alarm hours flash
Press D (Alarm) to advance these

Press B (Mode) again, seconds will flash,
press D (Alarm) to advance these

Press C (Date), minutes flash, press D to advance these

Press C again, hours flash, press D to advance these

Press C again, month flashes, press D to advance these

Press C again, Date flashes, press D to advance these

Press C again, Date flashes, press D to advance...... [suggestion from Chikita]]

Activating/Deactivating Hourly Chime

1. From "Normal Time Mode", press and hold "D" (Alarm) and
at the same time press "C" (Date) once. Hourly chime symbol,
( a house shape) appears in "chime" windows to indicate
the hourly chime will beep every hour.

Activatin/Deactivating Alarm

2. With "D" (Alarm) still pressed, press "C" (Date) again. Alarm symbol
( a clock shape with waves above it) appears in the
upper right to indicate the 24 hour alarm is now activated.

[I assume this "toggles" between off and on states,
so performing it again should turn off the alarm]

Message from Dean

Just a note to say "thanks" for the instructions on setting up my watch. It came without instructions and when it got set to 24 hour format instead of 12 hour, it drove me crazy trying to set it back. My watch is a WR165 (it has an EL button below the display, so I'm guessing it's an Eclipse, but that's just a guess) and the buttons are a little different that the one you've diagramed out. (The light and mode buttons are reversed). Using your instructions as a guide, I found out that if you hold down the alarm button (D) and press the mode button (A) the format changes from 12 to 24 hour.

Update: If you want to contact Armitron, call Armitron at 1-800-937-0050.

I was tring to shut off the alarm when it went into a sleep mode or something because it went blank and the only thing that works is the light. Any Ideas?
Thanks Gerald Coates

Take the battery out and replace it is my best guess. If that doesn't work, buy a new battery I guess?

Posted by: Peenie Wallie on October 05, 2006 at 03:44 PM

It doesnt work for mine:( I tried it and the time doesn't change.

Posted by: Axyl on October 29, 2006 at 06:29 AM

Thanks guys, these instructions were very helpful
mine is the same as "Deans.

I have an Armitron watch. And i dont know how to set the time ... the diagram above is dif them my watch. My watch has on it "adj, sta/stp, mode, el" not the same as the diagrams. it says on the back M602. But i dont know if that means anything. ANY help would be appreciated.

Posted by: Aubrey on October 29, 2006 at 09:05 PM

Aubrey, I had the same problem you did with your watch....we must have the same watch....after fiddling with mine for what seemed like forever I finally figured out how to set it and figured I would share the info with you incase you are still trying to figure it out. Hold down the mode button....if you hold it down for long enough (like ten seconds) the seconds of your current time will start to flash....use to st/stp button to move over to the hour part and then use the adj. button to change the time...I hope this helps!

I have an armitron 40/6623 instalite alarm/chrono, you can find the model number on the back. WR 165 indicates water resistant to 165 feet. The instructions here do not work. I did find a link at the armitron site, but it does not have this model. the pdf may help others, though.
Armitron says if the model is not listed on the site call them 718-784-0700

thanks a lot im glad i googled the watch and foun this article it was very easy to understand and thanx for the help

Posted by: D on December 22, 2006 at 09:14 PM

Well, it worked for me. Even though mine wasn't the exact model and I was missing one of the switches talked about. The information on the seconds blinking helped get me to the right place. Thanks!

Armitron watches have been my choice since 1978 when I first discovered them - However, my latest one did not have instructions, but my experience with them has taught me that they are pretty much all the same, if one fiddles with them a little - Was very happy that this site furnished a phone number in NYC for them because 411 info was clueless - Mine is a WR165 and sometimes the workings get mixed up, but with a little experimentation, I'm slowly getting it back to "normal" - Dean's instructions were very helpful - I suggest that anybody who needs "hands-on" service go to the jewelry section of Wal*Mart; they are quite knowledgeable - Feel free to email me for further discussion - Jon

A problem developed in my last post - The URL I used was for my private journal and not public, so there is no access from this site - Therefore I've removed the URL in hopes that people will be able to pull up my email address from clicking on my hilited name:):) - Jon

I have a WR245 that has worked great for the 2-3 years I have had it but recently I turned the "chime" on somehow and now it chimes on the hour every hour which I hate. Can't find the owners manual since we moved, everything else is pretty simple, hold the lap/rst button in for 5 seconds until the thing you wish to change flashes, but I can't get the chime to flash? Any help would be appreciated. - Annoyed

Thank you for posting this info. I've been trying like crazy to figure out how to change the time. I haven't worn this watch in 3 years. The battery was still ticking away, but apparent it was 7 minutes slower than what it was 3 yrs ago. Strange, eh?

Thanks all.

CH stands for CHime - Watch gives a little chirp on the hour. Also, the 40/6753 only has THREE control buttons (A, B & C positions as in the above illust.) I love the face-guard on this watch - those two little bars have saved the "crystal" many times.

I need someone smarter than me to tell me how to change the time on the 40/6753? (since it only has three numbers) Thanks

Heather,
I just bought the 45/6958 from Kohl's. It came with the WRONG instructions. On Armitron's site it does not have instructions for the 45/6958. I called the company at 718-784-0700. They will be mailing me instructions. They can't email them
:(. Try giving them a call and see if they can send you instructions. I was not charged anything.

so it's time to "FALL BACK" from daylight savings time, but how to do that with this watch? This post saved me from putting this watch in the drawer for next spring and buying a new one I could use till then.

So after I changed the time, I checked out the home page for this blog. There's a tip jar. That seems preposterous; I have a few blogs and I don't ask for tips. But the tip I got from here to set my watch is more that worth the small tip I left in the tip jar for this blog.

Thanks !!

I opdered an Armitron "Men's Dress Watch, Titanium (Black) Round. I have numerous high end watches; i.e Rolex, Cartier, RADO, etc; however I wanted a good "Everyday" watch, Particularly, one that displays the day-of-the-week. The Armitron 20/4285BLSV seemed to "fit the bill" exactly. HOWEVER, it arrived with absolutely no instruction! I pulled up the Armitron web site and was hoping that I could download the instructions. Their page has a "instructions" pull down, but there is no response after patiently waiting 20 minutes. I am the Chairman and CEO of a multibillion dollar Corporation. If we ran our business this way, I would be "on the street" begging people to tell me the time.

Posted by: shane Allman on December 25, 2007 at 09:35 AM

Thanks for the instructions. Even though I have a 45/6955, merely following the labeling as the "date", "alarm", etc. keys seemed to work well (buttons arranged differently, but I used the button corresponding to the same function in these instructions and with my child's watch).

Posted by: Marcos on December 27, 2007 at 08:27 AM

Doesn't work. my "C" button is the light button and the watch just lights up when i press it, it doesn't move on to the minutes.

Thanks for the instructions. We just purchased the Sport Pro which doesn't come with instructions. The location of the buttons is different on this model. The Mode button is on the bottom left, the light (EL) is at the bottom right, the Date button in the instructions corresponds to the St/Stop button and the upper left button in the instructions is the ADJ button. Still following the instructions and watching what is happening on the watch enabled me to set the time and date within five minutes. I have copied and pasted these instructions to a Word doc for future reference. Thanks again.

Posted by: Teresa on January 19, 2008 at 07:56 PM

Hi, I have a 40/6753 and here is what I found to set the watch

................Adj......................Start/Stop

...............Mode
.............................EL

Press and Hold down the MODE button until the display starts to flash that you are Adjusting the alarm. If you need to adjust the alarm here ya go :)

Press the mode button again and it switches from adjusting the ALARM to adjusting the TIME.
At this point the display will be flashing the seconds. Press the ADJ button and it will switch to Adjusting the Minutes. Press the AdJ button to advance the minutes.

Pressing the Start/Stop will switch to Adjusting the Hour. Again pressing the ADJ button will advance the Hour until you get to the correct one.

Once correct press the Start/Stop to switch to Adjusting the DATE. Press the ADJ to advance Month and Day.

Pressing the Start/Stop will finally switch to Adjusting the DAY OF THE WEEK. (little circle to the left hand side). Again, pressing the ADJ will advance the Day until correct.

This took me an hour just pressing buttons until I could figure this out. I hope this helps everyone.

How do you set the time for the amitron 40/8079?

Posted by: unknown on March 10, 2008 at 06:36 PM

This information was very helpful for me. Before I found this site, I was just pressing any buttons at random, not knowing which button really did what. This site is now stored in my favorites.

I know exactly why we are all having these problems with these piece of trash watches. The more instructions they can eliminate from the packages and the more difficult the different sets of instructions are the more watches they will sell because people just throw them away and buy another. JUNK, pure JUNK

Posted by: Lotty on March 26, 2008 at 01:10 PM

Switching the date format from Days - Month to Month - Days (e.g. April 24 = expressed as "24 4" and need to change to "4 24"). Simply press the "Date" button and while holding this down and the date is showing, press the "Alarm" button. The watch will beep and show the changed format. Repeat these steps to change to the other format. Hope this helps.

I have a men's red anodized 40/8108 which is supposed to be water resitant to 300ft. I don't dive that deep with it, but I have gone as deep as 100ft, and no problems - no water leaking in. Also tend to wear it under my wetsuit (watches are not terribly helpful in scuba except in comparison with dive computer). Anyway I wanted one I didn't have to worry about (and cheap to replace if it fails) and this one holds up. Only thing I would change is the inclusion of an optical bubble to the face so it could be read easier underwater.

THank good for all you guys out there and a little bit of patience in figuring out what worked. How can a company sell watches and not have instructions that come with it? Well, I got mine off a sales rack, but I am sure this is not true for most of you. Surprising that they have so many fans out there (us) who like the watches and are willing to go through major customer hell to get the product to work.

The alarm on my Armitron All-Sport just stopped functioning even though I still have it set to Alarm. Anybody ever experience this? The rest of the watch still works just fine.

By the way, I called both the 1-800 and the 718 number: the people at 1-800 were quite rude (twice), answered the phone without saying anything about who I had reached and sounded mad that I had bothered them, then transferred me to someone who called me Hon just basically decided to agree that it must be the battery although I don't think it is. The 718 people were more professional and said they didn't think it was the battery but said I would have to send it to them...which I don't think is cost effective at this point. I'll discard it if I must but I dislike just not using it because of that (I use it as my morning get-up alarm so I do need the alarm). Any thoughts

Armitron 165WR All-Sport Watch Instructions

Note - there are excellent instructions above, but my watch has the buttons located differently.
I re-wrote the instructions for the buttons on my watch and cleared up a couple of typos.
If the instructions above don't work for you, try these. The back of my watch says M112 and 40/6595.

Button Arrangement:

Light A / \ C Date
| |
Mode B \ / D Alarm

Set Time Time / Date

Press and hold B (Mode) until alarm hours flash
Press D (Alarm) to advance these

Press C (Date), minutes will flash,
press D (Alarm) to advance these

Press B (Mode). Day of the week & seconds will flash.
press D to clear seconds to zero. If seconds were showing > 30, will increment minutes also.

Press C again, minutes flash, press D to advance these

Press C again, hours flash, press D to advance these

Press C again, month flashes, press D to advance these

Press C again, day flashes, press D to advance these

Press C again, day of week flashes, press D to advance...... [suggestion from Chikita]]

Press B to exit setting mode

Activating/Deactivating Hourly Chime

1. From "Normal Time Mode", press and hold "D" (Alarm).
While holding D press C. This will toggle the hourly chime. If the hourly chime is on,
the Hourly chime symbol (a dot with radiating parentheses) appears in "chime" window.

Activating/Deactivating Alarm

2. With "D" (Alarm) still pressed, press "C" (Date) again.
This will toggle the alarm. If the alarm is on, the chime symbol
(a dot with radiating parentheses) appears in alarm window.
The alarm window has a picture of a bell.

Pressing C again will repeat the cycle, toggling first the hourly chime, then the alarm.

Switching Between 12 Hour (Am/Pm) And 24 Hour (0:00 - 23:59) Modes
Press and hold D. Press B (Mode). This toggles 12 / 24 hour mode.
